Pop Punk, Emo, Post-Hardcore | Whitby, Ontario, Canada
The Graduation Day is a melodic pop/punk band hailing from Whitby, Ontario, Canada. These guys love to rock out with an explosive live act and catchy songs that just don't leave your head. Consisting of Chris Hepburn (lead vocals/guitar), Noah Clark (guitar/vocals), BJ Bourne (bass) and Andy Hepburn (drums) they have been making quite a name for themselves in the Durham music scene by playing all over Ontario and working hard. But it wasn't always this way...
You can trace TGD's early beginnings to the summer of 1997 when Chris and Andy got their first gear. They decided that they were going to start a band with their long time friend Blake Austin. It started off well but then took a turn for the worse when Blake left, leaving them stuck. With their new found obstacle they felt hopeless, then Ryan Brown came into the mix and started playing bass for the band. With the new line up they started there ascent up through the local scene playing as many shows as they could. They soon realized that one guitar just wasn't enough so they switched Ryan from bass to guitar leaving them without a bass player. Soon after, they found BJ Bourne and he was the man for the job. Playing more and more shows and getting a steady fan base is what they were focusing on now with a line up that seemed to work. Recording was right around the corner and in March of 2000 they recorded they first EP which sold extremely well with the help of 102.1 THE EDGE. With their hopes high, they kept playing away. But all good things must end, and Ryan Brown left the band.
With thoughts of breaking up, The Graduation Day went through a transitional period while trying to find a guitar player. With new ideas and new songs they felt this was their time, and getting a guitar player fast would be critical. It took some time but they found just what they were looking for in Noah Clark. He fit perfectly. With Noah joining, the band feel's this is there stongest line up yet and this is the way it's gonna stay.
The Graduation Day has plans to record their second CD which is going to be their best yet. With the same sound but a new edge, they are ready to take on whatever comes their way. Be on the look out for these guys, they will be
coming to a town near you.*RELEASES*
