No Ones Anthem

Pop Punk, Progressive, Easycore | St. Clair Shores, Michigan
Myspace Header, 2007

Hailing from the burbs of St. Clair Shores, Michigan - No Ones Anthem is four dudes, all together for one thing: To create innovative pop punk music, mixing old school punk and hardcore with a new age pop-punk style. Already having 5 years experience, the teenage pop-punkers are still only 17 years old and have done more than bands twice their age. Starting in middle school together, playing NOFX and Blink-182 covers, NOA has matured and grown to become a must-see in the Michigan scene. After releasing 2 CDs and filming a Hi-Def DVD, No Ones Anthem are planning to write more, record more, and tour in the near future!

The Dinosaur on My Back

Pop Punk, Easycore | Columbus, Ohio

The Dinosaur on My Back is a christian popcore band that is looking to break boundaries and stereotypes. Hailing from southern Ohio this band is a breath of fresh air to the local music scene. With a unique combination of catchy choruses, brutal breakdowns, and smooth synth their sound is nowhere near ordinary. The members are aged Freshman to Seniors in high school, and look to make a difference in whoever hears their songs. Taylor Stepp the band’s drummer/vocalist says “We write our music to help kids understand where they are in life, to try make sense of where they should be and to see the light at the end of the tunnel.” It’s apparent that The Dinosaur on My Back has made tremendous strides musically since they formed in the Summer of 2009, and with their fresh new sound that appeals to fans of all genres, it’s hard to tell how far these kids will go.

Waiting for Headlights

Pop Punk, Easycore, Rock | Morristown. New Jersey

Tony, Ryan, and Geoff have been playing music together for several years, but one day they decided they wanted to start playing music that was more catchy and poppy than anything they had played before, but at the same time, heavier than any of their other music. Melody was enlisted to bring full out, awesome vocals, and Tony's brother Billy was added to complete the line up. They quickly released their "Smashdown" EP as a way to introduce themselves to everyone and are currently working on their second release that will be chock full of catchy melodies, passionate lyrics, and of course, beautiful, chugging breakdowns =)

Rumor Has It

Pop Punk, Easycore | Palm Springs, Florida
Myspace Header, 2009

We all carry the swords of our forefathers, who bore the very same steel from their forefathers, and so on and so forth. they symbolize allegiance to the pop punk community and all who dwell within it, without the likes of us, you would all be living in a world of nü-metal and african tribal dance grooves, listening to Nickelback and Sonny. We will not have this. Not while the blood of our ancestors flows through our mighty veins, we do so not for personal gain, not for fame or glory, but for you. We care for you from the bottom of our hearts We are Rumor Has It. Thanks for checking us out.

Uncorrected

Pop Punk, Easycore, Rock | Sydney, Australia
Myspace Header, 2009

Australia’s newest premier pop punk band has begun their struggle to emerge above and beyond the clichéd and exhausted scene of youth rock. Hailing from Western Sydney, Australia, at the age of 19, the 4 members have a far more mature approach to both their music and the industry than most other bands well above their age possess. Uncorrected acknowledges and accepts the level of commitment and struggle a band has to endure to become a premier act. The boys are prepared to strategically spend the time, money and effort to break open the scene and show just what they are capable of. Since beginning in January 2008, Uncorrected has recorded a debut EP that has amassed the attention of both a local and national crowd in addition to promoters throughout Sydney. They have played alongside major acts such as The Getaway Plan and New Zealand’s False Start, amassed over 40,000 plays online and had a multitude of shows offered for them to play. In the coming months Uncorrected have planned a number of shows far into other states, expanding and amassing a fan base worthy of note both in size and passion for the band. In 2009 there are major plans for a professionally recorded radio quality release and a nation tour to promote, the next 24 months looks to be exciting for both the boys of the band and the scene that gets to see and hear their music they play.

In 2010 their lineup consisted of: Dean Malakiy (Vocals/Guitar), Jye Constancho (Bass), Jorge Torres (Guitar), Mattie Otto (Drums).

Glorious Rebellion

Alternative, Pop Punk, Easycore | Crawfordville, Indiana
Band Photo by Crystal Tieszen, 2012

Glorious Rebellion has been a band since 2005 and has undergone many changes. They started off with four members; Ethan Myers on rhythm guitar and vocals, Domanic Wiltermood on lead guitar, Ricky Langford on bass, and Dustin Demoret on drums. After a few shows, the band started writing their own music and entered the school talent show and took first place. After several more gigs, and more of their own songs written, the band decided to bring on a new vocalist, Chris Lewis, and changed genres from light rock, to a more serious, mature sound. Soon after Chris joined the band former lead singer Ethan Myers quit.

Eventually Chris became too busy for the band and announced that he too would be backing out of Glorious Rebellion, after being a member for less than a year. The band quickly started looking for a new vocalist, and were recommended by a friend to try out their now current singer, Brook Voils. At first, the rest of the members frowned upon the idea of a female vocalist, but decided to invite her to a practice anyway. They were blown away by her talent and enthusiasm and quickly asked her to join. At Chris' last show, Brook performed one song with Glorious Rebellion to preview what the future held for the band. Upon Brook's joining of Glorious Rebellion, they made yet another genre change, this time to a more powerpop/happy hardcore sound with fast paced songs, syncopated breakdowns, and catchy lyrics.

In late 2009, the band added it's 5th and final member on keyboard and guitar, Taylor Harmon, who has always been a friend of Glorious Rebellion, but had always been in rival bands. Since the current line up of members had been set, the band has had more shows and a larger fan base than ever. They have taken the stage with some well known bands such as Eleventyseven, Same as Sunday, Ghost of Maine, and Forevermore. They currently have their song "More the Way You Pictured It" released on iTunes.

In no order: Brook Voils (Vocals), Domanic Wiltermood (Guitar), Dustin Demoret on (Drums), Ricky Langford (Bass), Taylor Harmon (Keyboard/Guitar)

Hitman for a Heart

Powerpop, Rock, Easycore | Orland, Florida

So if you thought of Orlando Florida, usually the first few things that come to mind are Disney World, orange groves, and old people as far as the eye could see… until now! Hitman for a Heart is a 5 piece power pop quintet located in the heart of Orlando. As more and more bands are emerging from the streets of our small city, Hitman for a Heart is pushing through all the post-hardcore, screamo, indie sounds, to develop a fan base beyond our control. With super powerful, punched in the face, teeth knocked out intros, bridges, and breakdowns, to the melodic melodies of the verse’s and chorus’s, Hitman for a Heart is aiming to change the way we listen to pop as we know it. Not your average pop band, Sean, Rob, Steve, Harris and Chris are paving the way for a new sub-culture of sound in our fair city, so be prepared World, we are Hitman for a Heart!
