Hazel and Vine

Hazel and Vine was from sunny Sacramento, CA. Forming at the end of 2006, Hazel and Vine has shared the stage with countless national acts and has toured so much that the van has become their first home. The goal of the band was to show that there is a bright side to every situation. Although many songs have sad or sorrowful lyrics, the upbeat music and relatable themes make each song easy to feel like it was written just for you.

Hazel and Vine started out on Ethos Records before going DIY after releasing "All Together Now..." in 2008. For their 2009 follow up album the group spent 30 days in the studio with Josh Benton of Joshua Tree Studios and Dan Koch from the band Sherwood. It was a month-long regiment of arriving at the studio at 10 a.m. and recording until 10 p.m.

Lead singer Kyle Monroe said his manager arranged for Koch to assist in recording. The band had half its songs written prior to Koch’s involvement, but Monroe insisted that had Koch not joined on, the record would not have been completed by deadline. “I am personally a huge Sherwood fan and have been since I was in high school,” Monroe said. “It was a great motivation to get off our butts and start working.”

Koch’s most significant contribution was shaping the song “The Radio Sound.” Once Koch heard the single-worthy song, Monroe said he was enamored with shaping it into a radio-friendly pop hit. The band worked with Koch in his Los Gatos, CA apartment, playing acoustic guitars and receiving helpful tips on roughly half the record’s songs. Monroe admits that after spending time with Koch the group applied its lessons to the remainder of the record. “The song was originally an upbeat number but very dark and very minor,” he said. “He really taught us how to focus on making a song radio-friendly without sounding like every pop band on the radio. Short songs that are to the point. And I feel that is exactly what this record is… Despite our last song that is five minutes with a nice outro.”

Kyle Monroe later went on to start the band Golden Youth and afterwards became a producer/engineer at Tiny Tape Room in Nashville, TN. Davis and Andy went on to start the band My Long Awaited.

Tonight Tonight

Tonight Tonight originally started under the name Beauti but changed it when they relocated to Burlington, Ontario. They recorded and self-produced their first EP at their own studio, Brilliant Red Studios. Tonight Tonight announced their breakup in August 2011, a few short months after the release of "West Coast Feeling". They played a short farewell tour that October.

“Everything we’ve done to date we can credit to the fans and amazing team of people who have supported us. Unfortunately as a band we found it tough in recent times to make things work due to real life matters, after years of living together we decided it was best to call it a day. A few members are already working on new musical projects already so this won’t be the last you hear from us.

Thanks again to every fan that came to any show, free or paid, anyone that bought an EP or t-shirt, let us stay at your place or feed us, booked us a show, or supported in anyway; your enthusiasm is what kept us going and allowed us to make this final EP, delivering what we feel is our best effort to date. We hope to see some familiar faces at the final shows and make these last shows really count."

After Tonight Tonight broke up in 2011, Colin Lindgren went back to releasing solo music under his own name and Matt Groening joined the band Avenir Sky.

Beauti

Beauti is a group of close friends with a common purpose in mind; to write and perform music with substance. Songs that contain a deeper meaning, songs that speak of living life the way life was meant to be lived... In a world where lies stand as truth, where darkness and hopelessness prevail and countless hearts waste away without ever knowing or feeling any hope at all. Beauti is something real, something different.

With a combination of hard hitting drum beats saturated with high gain guitars and soaring melodies screamed with an almost limitless passion, the pure energy of Beauti is unmatched. The elevated chorus' and strong harmonies are engaging and bring a sense of fullness and life to the songs. These songs were built to leave a mark on those who listen.

When asked what the name Beauti meant they replied... Being beautiful is something completely contrary to what our world will tell us, something that can only be found through the grace of our lord Jesus Christ.

Beauti also started a recording studio called Brilliant Red Studios where they recorded their own album along with many up and coming artists.

Colin Lindgren

Colin Lindgren (sometimes spelled "Lingren") started out playing acoustic shows while touring all across Canada opening for a rock band called Rides Again. Through this experience he gathered contacts and friendships with musicians and industry people alike.

In 2008 he formed the band Beauti with a group of close friends containing four members from British Columbia and one member from Ontario. In 2011 he returned to releasing solo music under his own name.

The Hand Me Down Kids

The Hand Me Down Kids is a pop punk powerpop band from Lincoln, NE who knows that music is all about the fans. Lamoni Finlayson (vocals) started the band back in August 2008 as a solo project before bringing Fletcher Sherwood (guitar), Brandon Butterfield (bass), Anthony Butterfield (drums), and Paul Knapp (guitar) onboard to make the project into a full band line up. They started flooding Myspace with songs like “The Comeback”, “Heart to Molly”, and “College Girl Queen”, songs that conveyed the underdog feelings Lamoni was inspired by when he named the original solo project “The Hand Me Down Kid.” Those three songs reached over 105,000 plays on Myspace in the first six months and the band profile attracted over 9,000 myspace friends.

Since then, through fan communication and interaction they have revived a previously dead music scene in their area, and developed a strong online following with over 35 active street teams in more than twenty states, and even five different countries. Their fan base has continued to grow to over 16,000 Myspace friends and hundreds of text update subscribers in over 40 states. The band receives over 100 comments a day, but they still manage to get a reply out to almost everyone. They know that without dedicated fans with a passion and love for music, living out their passion of playing music together wouldn’t be possible. 

Some of their influences are bands such as Every Avenue, All Time Low, Forever The Sickest Kids, We The Kings, Mayday Parade, and many more. Even though they have only been a band for a short amount of time The Hand Me Down Kids have already started to make a name for themselves! They released their first demo titled “We’re Naked Under Our Clothes”, containing the band’s three original songs in March of 2009.

Lamoni was previously in the duo From a Whim and later went on to start the solo project We Should Whisper!

The Monster Goes Rawrr

The Monster Goes Rawrr (Sometimes stylized as The Monster Goes Rawrr!!) formed in mid 2009. In a scene overflowing with bands mixing rock and dance it’s difficult to stand out. However, The Monster Goes Rawrr, a rock/electro band from Brisbane, Australia, have achieved a sound that takes electro-based rock to a new level. The band has already made waves in the local music scene, supporting US electro heavyweights 3OH!3, UK rockers You Me At Six and Kids In Glass Houses, Texan popster The Secret Handshake and Aussie ex-pats Closure In Moscow. The Monster Goes Rawrr is destined to propel themselves further up the ranks of the Australian music scene.

Their self-titled album was originally released in 2010, but re-released in 2011 with three additional tracks. In 2013 the band changed their name to Like Rockets, reflecting a more matured pop rock sound.
