Pop Punk, Pop | Penrith, Australia
Having torn up their debut year in 2010, Soapbox Summer are bursting into the scene in 2011! Scoring bigger and better gigs and landing international supports (Valencia, Ben Jorgensen of Armor For Sleep), this Western Sydney band is turning all the right heads, without having to give any.
After releasing "Split Decision" in March of 2011, Soapbox Summer were touted by many as one of the must see bands in the ever growing rebirth of Australian Pop-Punk. Having spent the end of 2011 recording their follow up EP "Will Sell Out For Food" (set for release mid February 2012) Soapbox Summer have started 2012 with a bang touring up and down the east coast and plan to circle the country multiple times in the next year. With anthemic circle pit pop punk and their unique brand of bubble mosh they plan to take Australia by storm. Or die trying.
Schoolboy stage antics, insanely catchy melodies and shout-your-lungs-out chorus lines make Soapbox Summer's live set an explicit, slightly arousing, and incredibly entertaining half hour. And if that isn't enough to get you dancing, Rufio riffs, Hit the Lights melodies, and those pop punk beats will get you on your feet.
Soapbox Summer was: Greg Schneider, Sean Tuckwell, Jonny Prophet, Reece Grogan.
