Somersault Sunday

Electronic, Pop, Acoustic | Wayne, Pennsylvania
Band Photo, 2009

Wayne, Pennsylvania’s Ari Leff is the main man behind Somersault Sunday, an electro-infused pop rock solo-project. Being only 16 years old, Ari is way ahead of the game; having already released 3 EP’s, played countless shows locally and regionally, and been on tour, there is no sign that he’ll be stopping anytime soon.

Ari’s latest release, “Phone Calls & Weekends” was produced by Kevin Gates of Engaged Audio (Never Shout Never, The Ready Set, Cady Groves). With extremely catchy hooks, compelling beats, and hard-hitting choruses, the EP is sure to win the hearts and attention of many new fans across the country.

Using anything from an acoustic guitar to crazy synthesizers, and everything in between, Ari tries not to limit his musical creativity to just one pin-pointed style. In a world where bands release the same song 5 times, he aims to bring something fresh to the table with each and every release. While some songs feature an honest, organic sound, others pump beats so compelling that you can’t help but get your groove on (go ahead, no one’s watching).

Whether he’s writing music, playing shows, doing web-chats, or filming video updates, Ari’s always thinking of his fans. It’s not just about his love of music, but also about connecting with the people that make it all possible: you. In addition, Ari has true perseverance and work ethic, two things that are hard to come across in today’s industry, setting him apart from the rest.

Say You Will

Rock, Pop Punk | Johnson City, Tennessee

Say You Will is a five-man pop punk band based out of Elizabethton and Johnson City that is beginning to find itself involved in a music scene much larger than just the Tri-Cities.
The group recently won the Shoutfest battle of the bands held in Nashville by INO Records. Say You Will is also in an online battle of the bands contest for a spot on the Warped Tour.
This group of fun-loving rockers find themselves thrilled by the possibilities developing so quickly. “We’re really excited about it all,” said ETSU sophomore Brandon Keen. “We’re all just constantly running around getting things done. We’re just really busy right now, which is great. We’re getting closer to being a full-time band.”
This newfound increase in their work load has kept the band from fully realizing the gravity of their situation, yet the band is not totally blind to the results of their music.
“We’re so busy that we don’t have the time to realize the reality of what’s going on in our careers,” said Whetsel. “We have been working so hard lately. It feels as if we are finally reaping the benefits of that. If we ever do find time to just think about how everything is turning out, we end up just being in awe.”

Small Talk

Pop Rock, Acoustic, Pop | Boston, Massachusetts
Band Photo, 2009 - Drew Pineider, Connor Bissett, Jimmy Welsh, Brian Ma

Small Talk is a Boston-based rock quartet whose music boasts the ups and downs of a teenage vocalist, well ahead of his time. The 2010 EP, “Nothing to Do With Love,” (produced by Blake Healey, formerly of Metro Station) hits home with any listener, from tales of heartbreak, to karma.

In the Fall of 2009, front man Jimmy Welsh decided to perform behind a band name. He recruited Drew Pineider as a drummer, who only had to make the flight from Dallas to Boston once before settling in for good. The two were soon joined by longtime friends, Brian Ma and Connor Bissett.

The name Small Talk is a clear reflection of Welsh, who won’t reveal much until he’s got a microphone in hand. There is nothing small about the way he expresses real life experiences, past and present.

Just the Kid

Pop, Powerpop, Rock | Aledo, Illinois

Saccharine-sweet choruses and bursts of kinetic energy are packed into each and every one of Just The Kid's songs. The Quad Cities natives meld a diverse array of pop, rock, and hip-hop into dance floor ready tracks that ooze with vitality in a scene that's too often dominated by haircuts instead of hooks.

The quintet - consisting of vocalist Jordan "Roldy" Teel, guitarists Paul Bridgford and Derek Esp, bassist Jonathan "Jonny" Guyton, and drummer Bryce Schroeder, formed in February 2009 combining members of two local bands (Bridgeford and 9heart21). Combined, group members have performed with the likes of bands like All Time Low, The Rocket Summer and Hit The Lights.

With experience already under their belts, Just The Kid wasted no time writing and recording. In July 2009, they released Keep It Fun!, their debut EP. Keep It Fun! is not only just a title. It's the band's modus operandi. "We all have agreed that we think our music is feel good music," says guitarist Paul Bridgford. "There's always an upbeat vibe to our shows, and we try to project that image as well."

Render Me Speechless

Pop Rock, Emo | Boca Raton, Florida
Myspace Header, 2008

Render Me Speechless is a pop rock band with a twist of witty lyrics, intelligent progressions, and melodies you won't stop singing. We formed in early 2007 and began writing, but didn't become a full band until early 2008 when our pianist Jackson Messick joined. A few months later, we started recording our EP titled "What We're After" which will be on sale August 2nd, 2008. We are booking our first Florida tour for mid-august and can't wait to see what this band can do.

Sleeper Skylight

Alternative, Pop, Rock | Newmarket, Ontario, Canada

Sleeper Skylight was formed by Michael Reale and Ryley Young in Newmarket, Ontario in late 2009. In July of 2010 they released their debut EP, "A Moment to Feel Alive", which was produced by Matt Grabe (A Rocket to The Moon, The Maine). After following Warped Tour that summer to promote the new release, Sleeper Skylight played their first show to a sold out crowd in Toronto. Since then, they have been fairly quiet in the music scene. Aside from an acoustic tour and the odd performances in Toronto and surrounding areas, they were focused on taking time to develop Sleeper Skylight's sound. Now, in July 2012, Sleeper Skylight has returned with the new single "Encompass You". It's a much darker and more personal track than previous efforts, while still maintaining the short and sweet pop structure established on the EP. The new track is a hint of what's to come.

The Endless Summer

Alternative, Pop Rock | Springfield, Missouri
Band Photo, 2012

“It’s been one hell of a ride so far.” That’s how vocalist Nick Bacon would describe the three-year existence of a project known as Highland Fall. Started back in 2008, five long time friends banded together to try and make something of themselves and pursue a career in doing what they loved the most: music. It didn’t take long for them to gain a level of success, playing for large concert venues and large crowds around the Midwest and throughout the eastern United States.
However, the “time has come for some change,” Bacon says, and the band has decided to recently release a new project, entitled The Endless Summer.

“We’ve completely re-vamped everything. New music, a new style, a new name, and more,” Bacon says of the new project, “We had even lost Tommy, to the business world. He was fortunate enough to be invited to work as the A&R for new talent at Chicago Custom Percussion, and we had to wish him only the best out there. That company is going to be huge, and we knew that Tommy was going to play a huge part in it’s rise to the top.”
Shortly after, though, Oerding was back with the band and doing what he loved. "I just realized that I wanted to be part of something again," Tommy said, "I love building drums, but I love playing them even more, especially with these guys. We have a new start and it's a fresh chance to be one of the important faces of 'TES'." Oerding also had the chance while away from the band to do some touring with Plug In Stereo , and has admitted that it has been enough to keep him solid and eager for more.

The decision to change the band’s name was one of a rebirth. The band has recently released its debut EP entitled "Fairweather," which can be found now on iTunes and all major online media outlets.
"We are so excited about 'Fairweather'," Bacon reflects, "It really is the first step and the building block to what we are hoping to accomplish with The Endless Summer." The record reflects back on some of the "negative" aspects of life in general, and the band says that the best is still yet to come. Adds Nick, "We've gotten some things off of our chests, we've put out the negative through this EP, now it's time for the positive."
The band plans to be back in the studio with Producer Kevin Gates this October, where they will record their sophomore EP. "This one is for all the marbles," concludes Bacon, "Summer is over for pretty much everyone; it's just beginning for us."

Their previous project Highland Fall can be found HERE.

Highland Fall

Pop Punk, Alternative, Rock | Jefferson City, Missouri
Myspace Header, 2009

Highland Fall began in June, 2008, with the members of A War In May collaborating with singer Nick Bacon. The group was thrown together to compete in the Crossover Music Festival's National Talent Search regional competition. Songs for the competition were written in a week by guitarist Tyler Long, drummer Blake Maples, and singer Nick Bacon and won the contest for the band. At the national showcase that fall, Highland Fall was beat out for the contract with Sony / Essential Records, but considered it a blessing in disguise, and a chance to find something more suitable to their style and beliefs. The 5-piece returned with major contacts, support, and information that has served as the driving force in what would become a major influence in pressing the band to what is now another writing process, as well as booking shows, and getting ready to record their first official E.P.! After being together a mere 4 months, Highland Fall has already been recognized on a national level, and has established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry, Christian and Secular scenes alike!

Highland Fall later changed their name to The Endless Summer in 2011. You can find The Endless Summer HERE.
