Sail by the Stars

Rock, Acoustic, Powerpop | Panama City, Florida
Myspace Header

This is the part where I'm supposed to talk about myself. About my accomplishments, and use big words and lots of hyphens to describe my unique sound. But the truth of the matter is, that's not me. I'm just some kid that loves to play music.

My name is Josh, and this is my solo project. Music is my life. I've been playing as long as I can remember, and to be completely honest, I believe I'll Play until the day I die. I've been in a ton of bands, which you more than likely haven't heard of. I was left here, with nothing but open ocean all around me. To me, it always seemed like I was sailing in circles, searching for the light house in the distance. The sky was all I had, so I decided to Sail by the Stars.

We Saved the Party

Pop Punk, Electronic, Rock | Sydney, Australia
Aaron Delgado, Hayley Malone, Jonno Panichi, Josh Smith

New kids on the scene We Saved The Party have been making some serious waves over recent months, grabbing the attention of both the recording industry and Australia’s tight knit pop punk community, In fact the band drew so much attention to their forming that their official facebook page was bombarded by over 4000 fan requests within only 7 days of it’s launch!.

The groups founding members Josh Smith and Aaron Delgado known previously for their parts in bands such as Heroes For Hire & The Never Ever set out with friend’s Jonno Panichi “Drums” , and Hayley Malone "Vocals" to establish a new force in Australian pop punk by fusing their punk pop roots with a passion for high energy electronica and dance to create a sound lightyears ahead of current competitors.

Currently in the studio developing and recording their debut EP release with highly regarded production team HIT CITY (Amy Meredith, Kid Courageous, Christina Parie, Something With Numbers) and US rock mixing legend Rick Will (Incubus, No Doubt, Ben Harper) with their first single "First Class" gearing up to hit radio mid March 2012. We Saved The Party are still building a momentum that looks to be simply unstoppable.

In a scene that is constantly searching for “the next in thing”, these guys are definitely bringing their all and looking to take on 2012 without looking back, living up to all expectations that these kids “will save the party”.

We Won the Science Fair

Pop, Indie, Alternative | Boise, Idaho

Already over one year strong, We Won The Science Fair has started a new chapter. Founding members Michael Johnson and Logan Hyde started the band in January of 2008 under the name Mike, Logan, and the Computer. Writing acoustic pop ditties and clapping there hands for percussion was all they could do. But passion overwhelmed them and only 2 months after beginning. They realized they needed a full band to fulfill their musical dreams and endeavors.

After a vast search and 2 failed members We Won The Science Fair came across drummer Ukiah Bogle, who's style and mad beats intrigued their drumless mind. They welcomed Ukiah with open arms and continued to play multiple shows, which included playing with Steel Train, Dear and the Headlights, and their favorite band to play with, My Paper Camera, another Boise, Idaho local and close friends.

In November of 2008, Michael decided to spend two years of his life serving a mission in Johannesburg, South Africa. After bidding the team a sorrowful goodbye the remaining two members ran around like headless' turkey, but they knew one thing. They wanted to keep writing songs and continue on the journey.

They have just released their first full length CD, From The Basement To You, Dear Friends. Appearing in Hopecore.com Magazine and the Boise Weekly. They dream of touring full time and playing music for as long as possible.

Apple Horse

Indie, Folk, Pop Rock | Boise, Idaho
Band Photo by Kara Haupt

Apple Horse is a four-piece band from Boise, Idaho. They have a very raw, indie sound, making their songs easy to listen to.

Their name may be Apple Horse, and that imagery may confuse you (a horse named Apple? …A horse made of apples?!), but let’s look at the bigger picture here: the music. Clearly, these Idaho natives got it right in the making of their debut EP, Tuck Me In, Woodsman, which came out in late 2010. With pop melodies joining forces with entrancing vocals in a delicious unity, this EP is a short and sweet collection of songs to accompany you into the summer months. What more could you ask for?

Love, She Wrote

Pop Punk, Emo, Pop | Fort Lauderdale, Florida

The day after the tour van accident I woke up in the hospital. I was told I had been in a mild coma. I was told my drummer and best friend had broken his spine and foot. They said he may never fully recover or even wake up. I laid there with a broken jaw, unable to breathe on my own. The last thing I saw was headlights. This was the night I thought my music career was over. Me (Michael O.) & Nick B. were hit by a drunk driver going the wrong way on the interstate. The boy who hit us died upon impact. It took a year for me to recover. It took Nick a year and a half to recover. The first thing on my mind after the accident was "I'm not letting this stop us." Nick proved all the doctors wrong by making a full recovery. We decided to give it one more shot! Love, She Wrote was born in 2007 and quickly gained recognition on the road. The original lineup of the band did not share our vision. We wanted to make music our career and life. They wanted to play in a band and meet girls. We decided to revamp the lineup in 2008 and play the music we wanted to play ever since our early years in bands. Then we met Joey C. via internet. Joey sent us his demos and we fell in love with his voice. Joey was living in California at the time. Joey packed his stuff and moved to Florida. We decided to keep the band a three piece, it just felt right. The bands we loved growing up were three piece groups, so why couldn't we do the same. We worked for 2 months straight writing what is now "Oh! And About Last Night..." We heard of a producer that was working with amazing bands and we decided to give it a try. Paul Leavitt is best known for his work with All Time Low, among a million other amazing bands. The thing that draw us to him the most was his beautiful style in meshing the sounds together and his amazing ear for vocals. We ended up finishing the album earlier than expected and headed home. We were super excited with the result and the quality of the recording. I immediately showed our lawyer and now manager Jessica Brown the finished product. She said it was definitely an awesome sound and would do great in the music world today. Jessica (FTSK,RCW,AVSP) teamed up with Brian Calhoun to start managing the band full time. The band decided to go with Smartpunk.com for the CD's distribution and online sales. Smartpunk is an amazing company and is well trusted. We added the album to their store and have been in the top 3 for sales ever since. We gained the attention of The Daily Chorus and became a buzz seeker within the month. We also caught the attention of Alternative Press Magazine, who decided to make us AP&R; worthy for the month of January. This all happened within the first two months. We were super amped and felt so thankful for being able to play music again. We also added an amazing list of sponsors to our roster: Killbrand Clothing, Bad Cat Amps, Shine Drums, Heil Mics, and Music Saves Lives. We will begin full time touring in 2009 and we couldn't be happier. Music is our lives and nothing will ever take that away from us.

Joey Chrisman (Vocals/Guitar), Michael Orlando (Bass/Vocals), Nicholas Bartolo (Drums)

Dear Diary

Pop Punk, Rock, Powerpop | Detroit, Michigan

Dear Diary is a Detroit-based rock band that has wasted no time in establishing themselves as a legitimate and respected musical act; Since their formation in late December of 2009, they have defined themselves by a rock-solid work ethic, catchy hooks and technical musical arrangements, and some of the most energetic and fun live performances one will witness. Formed from previous members of notable acts, Dear Diary is no stranger to the stage. They are a group with experience in a variety of styles who all share the same love for high-energy, feel-good rock music. After recording at the pilot studio with producer Rob Freeman |(Hit The Lights, Cobra Starship), the guys have been traveling near and far to let people know what they are all about. “The goal is simple: We want to make people dance,” says Siers, “It’s all about making people feel good.” The group has made huge gains considering the short period of time they have been around. Their love for getting to know their fans, as well as their musical talents have landed them a new record deal, and national radio play on 600 major fm stations across the country, in addition to many xm stations as well. Get ready to check them out on tour in 2011, and prepare for the release of their EP, Caution: Contents May Be Hot, in the very near future. |“So many guys let circumstances and egos get the best of them, and it becomes very easy to lose sight of what’s really important,” explains Dameron when asked about Dear Diary’s probable longevity, “We love each other, we love the music we make, and above all else, we love making people feel amazing through that music. We will do whatever it takes to keep doing that.” Principe closes by adding, “Music is an essential part of the soul, yet the least recognized. Anyone who has found emotional refuge in a song or just knows what it feels like to be truly alive will understand exactly what Dear Diary is all about.”

Josh Mondro, Marco Principe, Chris Siers, Jake Houck, Jon Dameron
