Stanhope

Alternative, Pop Rock, Pop Punk | Dallas, Texas

Despite their young age of seventeen, Stanhope, deriving from the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, has been through quite a lot as a band. Their pop punk anthems have kept their entire community of Highland Park on the edge of their seats since 2005 with their performances everywhere from their local church to the State Fair of Texas. In April of 2006, spring of their 8th grade year, Stanhope released their debut EP “A Social Setback” with producer Geoff Rockwell (Forever the Sickest Kids, School Boy Humor, Red Car Wire) and haven’t looked back since. That release gained them city wide recognition from newspapers, music clubs, and even scored them a primetime spot on a new age show on channel 8 titled “Youngstreet”.

In the late summer of 2007, Stanhope headed into Maximedia Studios and recorded a new single titled “Oh, Thank Heaven For…” hoping that they would get positive feedback from old fans. The new single exceeded their expectations and sold an incredible amount on iTunes, leaving them with no choice but to put out a new record as soon as they could. Stanhope spent the next two years writing songs and playing shows promoting their past releases until they saved up enough money to head into the studio again.

In spring of 2009, the band met with old producer Geoff Rockwell again to see what he could do for them for their next release, and within an hour, Stanhope knew Geoff was the right guy for them. They spent most of June and July of 2009 driving back and forth from Arlington, Texas recording their new EP and eating Tex-Mex with Geoff. That album is now finished and is hoped to be released in late October/early November. Their names are Blake Jennings (Guitar), Will Taylor (Vocals), Bragg Smith (Guitar), Jackson Morgan (Drums), and they are Stanhope.

Triumph and Parade

Rock, Emo, Pop Punk | Chicago, Illinois
Band Photo by Scot Stewart, 2009

"A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence."

Triumph and Parade consists of five members who are not skilled painters, but artists none-the-less. Instead of brushes, they use instruments and a unique collaboration of ideas as their own swift stroke of creativity that help separate themselves from today's typical indie-rock band. Constructing songs with captivating melodies and harmonies, along with raw, chest-pounding, guitar-driven elements, the band continuously succeeds in creating a vivid image that resonates in listeners from all genres.

After relentless practicing and performing, the band recorded their 6 song, self-released EP. It was tracked and mixed in Chicago with producer/engineer Mike Hari at I.V. Lab Studios and the famed Gravity Studios. Once the songs were mastered at Sterling Sound in New York, the first track from the EP entitled "At Least It Felt Like A Promise," was selected over hundreds of other bands to be featured on Sterling Sound's "Emerging Artist Player" on their website.

Though they are unsigned, the group has shared the stage with several national acts such as A Static Lullaby, The Receiving End of Sirens, This Providence, and The Pink Spiders. Gaining recognition from independent music news sites, Triumph and Parade are featured on The Daily Chorus' "Top 40 Unsigned Bands" section along with other accomplished unsigned bands from around the world.

Since the release of the EP, Triumph and Parade has sold more than 1,000 copies at local shows, on tours throughout the midwest, and through various online sources such as SmartPunk and iTunes. "These 6 tracks have catchiness, sincerity, truth, and more energy than a 6 year old who didn't take their Ritalin." - somethingpunk.com

The Pledge

Pop Rock, Alternative | York, Pennsylvania

Energetic, uplifting, and addicting are just a few words that sum up the York, Pennsylvania based pop/rock group. Currently a three piece, The Pledge will make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end with the talents of Kayce McCullough's heart warming vocals, the driving guitar rifts of Matt Diehl, and the drum work of Brett Shoffner. Each coming from a different musical background, together they blend their styles and bring a sound that will pick you up and keep you dancing long after the music stops playing. Their message is simple, believe in yourself, and listen to your heart, and you will never stray from the right path.

The band has watched their popularity grow at an amazing pace, in the short period of time that they have been together. Not only are they dominating the local scene, but they were also invited to play at the GMA Music Festival in Nashville, TN 09. They also played Purple Door 09 HM stage.

From what we can tell the band was in the process of recording their debut EP but it was never released.

TV/TV

Pop Rock, Powerpop, Pop Punk | New York, New York

New York City quartet TV/TV were formed in 2006 by longtime friends Josh Ocean (vocals and guitar) and Joe Esposito (guitar), taking their name from a group of media-sharp Berkeley students from the 1970s who called themselves "TVTV" and specialized in asking politicians tough questions while filming the responses with handheld cameras. Rounding out their lineup with drummer Andrew Vanette and bassist François, TV/TV became a regular draw on the New York club circuit, featuring rock-driven dance tunes that never lost sight of the melodic side of pop. The band released an EP titled "Something to Get Excited About", produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount and recorded at Tree Sound Studios in Atlanta, GA, in 2007. Just as it was released, drummer Vanette amicably left the band and was replaced by Camille "Cam" Olivier.

Come On, Come On

Pop Rock, Electronic, Powerpop | Chino Hills, California

Come On, Come On formed in October of 2009 when two friends, Kelvin Cruz and Justin Powell, decided to combine forces once again musically and make a song that would become known as “Life’s Been More Than Fair.” Kelvin and Justin are no strangers to making music with each other. Both are formerly of the Chino Hills, screamo/rock group A Thorn For Every Heart. Cruz and Powell have been making music together for eight years now which makes for no surprise of the chemistry that was quickly found writing for Come On, Come On. Now only six months later the two have written, self recorded, produced and engineered their debut six song EP titled “Pop Fiction.” They have pulled together a vast amount of influences with everything from Queen to Jimmy Eat World to The Black Eyed Peas which has lead to their pop/rock/electronic unique but modern sound.
