Powerpop, Electronic, Pop Punk | Long Island, New York
Inspiration can lead to great feats. This is a fact that has been proven by power pop outfit, Under Spinning Lights time and time again. Under Spinning Lights is composed of six young attractive guys with personalities that are appealing and give each fan something to love. They are a band that has grown exponentially in the past three years they have been together.
Inspired by the new wave electronica and pop rock bands of their time, Eric Pagan, Jay Pagan, Max Iantorno, Dom Fazzari, Danny Lopez, and Ryan Hart made it their goal to make a living playing the music they love. Hailing from Long Island, New York this group of personalities came together to make a sound that isn’t common in the Long Island’s heavy scene.
Soon after the band’s inception they went into the studio to record their first album “Under Spinning Lights EP”, with engineer Jonathan Castelli. The band did a ton of online promotion resulting in over 200 people at their first show alone. After a string of successful shows the band decided to take their musical venture to the next level by leaving the security of college in order to pursue music full time. Never letting up, they released a second EP called “Its Saturday Night EP” again with Jonathan Castelli. They then hit the road for an east coast tour in a 1993 Jeep Cherokee. Enduring two gas leaks and a snow storm in the Appalachian mountains that left them stranded, the band’s brotherhood and mutual passion helped them keep a positive attitude through out the hardships of tour. Under Spinning Lights instantly became local celebrities in their home town and at the 2010 Pop Con the band was interviewed by News Day because of the attention they were drawing by fans who were standing on line. From this they started touring full time and spreading their music from town to town one show at a time. Under Spinning Lights opened 2011 with a brand new EP produced and recorded by Christian Medice. They recently just got back from a 3 week tour stretching from Alabama to providence Rhode Island with a band called Floral Terrace.
Under Spinning Lights or sometimes abbreviated “USL” has become the name on every teens mind on Long Island. From their appearance to their sound Under Spinning Lights exemplifies electronic pop rock. Under Spinning Lights have accomplished a lot off of the sheer strength of their determination. They’re six hard working guys who don’t know the meaning of the word quit.
